Penelope Toasted Series Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Penelope relies on a meticulous four-grain blend to build its signature profile. The architectural foundation pairs sweet corn with wheat, rye, and malted barley. Maturation kicks into high gear when the liquid enters freshly toasted, newly charred American oak barrels, a process engineered to extract profound depth from the tight grain. The heavy toast deeply caramelizes the internal wood sugars. That heat alters the bourbon.

Secondary maturation adds crucial layers of dense vanilla and roasted nuts. Blenders intentionally char these finishing casks to specific levels, locking in a robust sweetness while pushing the four-grain distillate into darker, more intense territory. The extra time in wood darkens the liquid considerably. It's a complete textural transformation. Enthusiasts chase these expressions because they amplify the inherent dessert qualities of the wheat while taming the sharp rye spice.
